📡 Weekly Relay Recap #36 🛰️

Over the last week (08/12 to 08/18), the Pocket Network protocol has successfully relayed over 130.9M application requests and settled at 5,095 nodes.
Weekly Relay Recap & Analysis by Marco 👋 | @TMod_Marco
It’s that time of the week again, a new relay recap. And, what an amazing week it was!
Last week, we saw over 100M relays successfully processed by the network.
☝ The graph continues a very healthy and strong uptrend.
This also means 1.3M POKT was minted last week, distributed among 5,095 nodes.
That means an avg. of ~255 POKT per node in rewards.
Last week, I mentioned that with Dark Forest v6 Round 3 kicking off, I expected xDAI to quickly catch up with Fuse. That assumption was right! Fuse sent the most relays for weeks, but this week xDAI took the lead and sent the most relays to the Pocket Network.
Both blockchains show tremendous growth within our network, and we’re glad to have them on board!

Monthly Community Call & more
A brief reminder that this month’s community call is scheduled for Friday, August 27th.
Join us if you’re interested, we’ll be discussing a range of topics, including protocol upgrades, DAO proposals, community projects, as well as any topic you propose!
If you’re interested in proposing a topic, please contact Jack on Discord. To attend, RSVP on Discord.
Besides the community call, we still have the Pocket Arcade office hour coming up (Thursday, August 26th): to chat about the Pocket Arcade, where you can ask for help or share feedback!

Pocket Network x Fuse AMA with Founders
I mentioned earlier that Fuse has been driving a ton of traffic through Pocket these past weeks. Well last Thursday, Fuse and Pocket Network founders Mark Smargon and Michael O’Rourke, as well as Solutions Lead Shane Burgett came together in a video Ask-Me-Anything session to talk about all sorts of exciting topics!
For those that missed it, Fuse was so kind to upload a video recap. Be sure to check it out if you haven’t already!
Hot of the press🔥:
Fuse Submits Proposal for DAO2DAO token swap and for deeper ecosystem collaborations.
Pocket Network officially supports xDAI
You may have already spotted it, but we’re excited to officially announce Pocket’s support for xDAI!
📢We are thrilled to announce that @POKTnetwork now officially provides its decentralized, easy-to-use endpoints for all xDai users and developers!🌐

Jack shared an update regarding this on Discord yesterday as well:
‘’We are making preparations to whitelist xDAI Archival (000C) in 1 week (26th August).
We advise node runners who wish to support these chains to begin making their own preparations by deploying their own nodes, getting up to sync, and simulating relays to ensure that everything is working as intended. DO NOT add 000C to your pocket node stake until you have ensured your xDAI Archival node is working correctly, otherwise your Pocket node will be slashed.’’
What can you do to drive relays and add nodes to the network?
App's Side of the Marketplace
If you care about privacy and decentralization, replace the default network provider in your MetaMask wallet with actual decentralized node infrastructure by adding a Pocket-powered RPC endpoints for Ethereum, Avalanche, xDAI, Fuse, and/or Polygon through the custom rpc settings!
Try out any of these other apps listed in the Conscious Dappitalism page within our new docs .
You can also earn a skill-role in our Discord community server for dogfooding any of those applications by completing a quest within the POKT arcade.
Node's
Don’t know how to run a node? Check out the Node Runner docs above to learn how.
Try out Node Pilot, it’s the most user-friendly option to spin up both base layer blockchain nodes and Pocket nodes.
If you run into any issues, a community of node runners (and our support team) would be happy to help. If you’d prefer to not run a node yourself, check out the forum for a list of node providers offering their services to people interested in participating in the ecosystem.
How to purchase POKT to stake?
When you are ready to take the step forward in supporting decentralized node infrastructure and earning Pocket’s native cryptocurrency for serving apps then visit any of these community-established OTCs:
They are the best way to buy or sell POKT; and it helps nodes cover the cost of their infrastructure. Join either private telegram channels (requires telegram) and message the admin to get started. Note that there are fees associated with the OTCs to help cover their costs and that neither Pocket Network, Inc., the Pocket DAO, nor the Pocket Foundation receives any of these fees nor any proceeds from the sale of POKT through the OTCs.
